Cornwall Electric is a community focused organization and an active participant in the growth and prosperity of the City of Cornwall. We are proud of the many community programs we either sponsor or participate in. We are also equally proud of the efforts of our many civic-minded employees who generously give their time to volunteer in the community.

United Way SDG E‑Billing Donation Cornwall Electric donated $4,210 to United Way SDG through the December e‑billing campaign. This contribution will support United Way’s work across the region, helping address a wide range of community needs.	Image
Supporting Mental Health in Our Community Cornwall Electric donated to the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) to support their upcoming fundraiser. CMHA provides programs that help people with recovery and independent living, and the event will help strengthen local mental‑health supports.	Image
Holiday Star Gift Drive Cornwall Electric proudly sponsored 10 local children through the Children’s Aid Society’s Holiday Star program. Teams from across the company collected gifts to help make the holidays brighter for kids in our community, continuing our commitment to supporting families during the season.	Image
Supporting Club Richelieu Youth Programs Cornwall Electric is proud to support Club Richelieu of Cornwall and its programs for children and youth. The Club funds local initiatives such as Koala Place, Bereaved Families of Ontario, Christmas Family Baskets, and youth scholarships. Dancing with the CCH Stars Fundraiser We're proud to sponsor the live show for the Cornwall Community Hospital Foundation’s Dancing with the CCH Stars. Nine hospital teams performed to raise funds for a new anesthesia system for the operating room, supporting safer patient care. The event raised $180,174.90 in net proceeds.	Image

Cornwall Electric powers up $40,000 for new Benson Centre

“Our company is an integral part of the Cornwall community and is proud to make this donation,” said Michael Pescod, Regional Manager of Cornwall Electric.

“A state of the art facility like this is a welcome addition to the community supporting active and healthy lifestyles as well as stimulating the local economy when hosting sporting events.”

Cornwall Electric supplies electricity to 23,800 customers in the City of Cornwall, South Glengarry, South Stormont and the Ontario portion of the Mohawk Territory of Akwesasne. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Fortis Ontario.

“Fortis, through Cornwall Electric continues to be a supporter of community projects,” said Fundraising Committee Chairman Scott Lecky. “The community has embraced the Benson Centre since the doors opened a month ago. Thanks to groups and companies like Fortis, we have a top notch facility.”

This announcement brings the community fundraising to roughly $2.7 Million.
